Exhibitions

Teruko Yokoi has been included in over 100 exhibitions across 3 continents in her nearly 80 year career.  During her life she has produced, shown and sold thousands of works across various mediums including oil on canvas, work on paper and lithography. Her works have been shown in private galleries, major public and national museums and private institutions the world over.  She has two museums dedicated to her works and multiple institutions in Europe hold her works in their collections.

After her landmark exhibition at the Kunstmuseum in Bern in 2020 and her passing later that year, Teruko's work stepped back into the international spotlight with a major solo retrospective curated by Doug Walla at the Marlborough Gallery in New York. In addition, 2024 marked multiple appearances at the Armory show by Japanese and American galleries.  Announcements for major exhibitions in 2024 and 2025 in Switzerland, Japan and the United States are forthcoming.

The Estate continues to research and update the exhibition list based on past exhibition records and archives.  The exhibitions, works and installation images will be continually updated with information shared with large art relational databases to preserve her legacy for academic and institutional record.  An asterisk after the year in the exhibition subtitle denotes the exhibition year is known, with opening and closing dates pending verification.
